I ironically worked for HSBC for almost 6 months and happened to have my auto loan through them. In that time, they have assured me when I changed my payment date that I did not have to make an extra payment, then three months later called me to tell me I was over due because I didn't make this payment. So I told them fine, take the extra payment, then I call a few days later to see if they got it.... it said they took $560 instead of my regular $260 which really upset me because rent was due three days later. Their response.... sorry, nothing we can do but not take your next payment and send you a letter apologizing to your landlord. So then a week goes by and this money hasn't cleared my bank acct, and I call back to ask about it..... they took it from some other poor persons account, and when I told them to put it back, they said, well then your account will be over due again. Who cares!!! It's not my money!!!! So I say ok, this is what I'm doing I'm going to the bank, I'm making my payment for tomorrow and an extra payment and then everything is good right? I was assured that this is all I had to do. So I did it, and now I'm getting collections calls again saying that I owe them money because someone applied the payment wrong!!!!! I have been called numerous times, with no let up, and have even spoken to a collections manager who claimed two days ago it was fixed!!! (my latest call was just a half hour ago). These people are totally rude (I've been hung up on more times than I can count), and have no idea what they are doing! I will never as long as I live deal with HSBC for anything, be it auto financing, the bank or any other division. I have never dealt with a worse company in my life. I will be sending a letter to the FCAC about this, as I don't think that this type of treatment of consumers is fair.

At the moment we have two accounts with HSBC. One is an auto loan and the other a credit card at 11.9% interest. We don't have perfect credit but we pay our bills on time or within the grace period. We have never been charged a late fee and never have we been called by them. We have done business with them for three years at this point. Our only complaint is reaching someone who speaks English when you call them.
